About The Leather Nun
The Leather Nun formed in Gothenburg in the late 1970s around singer Jonas Almquist, with Freddie Wadling on bass early on. The EP Slow Death came out on Industrial Records in 1979, and from that avant-garde start the band moved towards dark, worn garage rock with a post-punk edge.
Lust Games (1986), Steel Construction (1987), International Heroes (1990) and Nun Permanent (1991) followed, and their cover of ABBA’s Gimme Gimme Gimme reached number 16 on the UK Indie Chart. The band reunited in 2014, and Whatever topped the Swedish vinyl chart in 2015. We publish the songs, and Jesus Came Driving Along is heard in the film Dudes.
