Four quick questions for the founder as the publisher turned 30, published by the Swedish trade paper Musikindustrin on 7 June 2017.

Anders Mörén, grundare av Misty Music

Misty Music turned 30 in 2017, and the Swedish music trade paper Musikindustrin marked it with four quick questions for Anders Mörén. His answers are a short version of our history.

The publisher started in 1987 together with Mistlur, after Mistlur founder Peter Yngen had asked about working together. Anders took over the company himself about three years later. Misty signed the DJ collective SweMix, including StoneBridge, Dennis Pop and Emil Hellman, as early as 1989. StoneBridge is still among our partner publishers, through Stone Music – Stoneyboy Publishing.

Misty began working with Imperial Records on José González and his breakthrough album Veneer in 2003. Misty signed Anna von Hausswolff in 2011 as her debut album was released. And then the question that reached the publisher: would Misty represent George Harrison in the Nordic countries?

In the interview Anders also mentions the new publishing company Slogans Without Texts, started with Johan Emmoth. Want to know where we stand today? Read about us, an independent music publisher since 1987.
