Silence Records
The label and studio in Koppom, a voice of its own in Swedish music since 1970.
About Silence Records
Silence Records was founded in Stockholm in 1970 and moved in the late 1970s to a converted school in Koppom, Värmland, where label and studio have shared a roof ever since. Sound engineer Anders Lind has run the company with Eva Wilke and later Nikolaj Steenstrup, and Karlstad University made him an honorary doctor in 2023.
The catalogue holds early releases by Bo Hansson, Sagan om Ringen among them, and Samla Mammas Manna, along with Träd, Gräs och Stenar, Kebnekaise and Harvester, and later bob hund and Hedningarna. The SVT documentary Tystnaden tells the story. We administer the Silence catalogue.
